Doing our bit. Cardboard has a stigma attached to it that suggests it is ‘non environmental’ and the paper industry has struggled in previous years to shout about the environmental aspects of our packaging type. The fact is, that cardboard is still the worlds favoured packaging type, in the UK, the recycling rate is 84%, and this prevents an area the size of greater London from going into landfill every four months. The recycling loop is so efficient that a box can be recycled, remade and reused in just two weeks (source CPI website) So what are RH Fibreboard doing to help the environmental cause? 1. We are actively supporting the Corrugated Recycles Campaign www.corrugatedrecycles.co.uk and display this logo by printing it on your packaging if requested, of course we recommend it. 2. Because we manufacture our own board, we are not carting bulky sheets of single wall material from suppliers to our facility each day. 3. Any cardboard waste we generate in house is collected by our paper supplier, reprocessed and sent back to us in paper form to recreate more packaging. 4. Over 90% of the packaging we make is at least 76% recycled and 100% recyclable, and the majority is 100% recycled. 5.
