Due to demand and expansion, we have recently taken delivery of an 18 Tonne Volvo FE 4×2 D8K28 with Curtain side body and tail lift to add to our delivery fleet, supplying cardboard across the UK. This vehicle has been sourced to service a variety of clients from those that don’t have forklifts, to larger enterprises further afield than the West Country.
The Bespoke body (designed and built by Kurt Hobbs Coachworks ltd) was sourced through Falcon Vehicle Solutions, who provide us with a finish in bespoke grey to match our corporate identity.
With a side aperture of 2.8 metres, and an overall length of 8.5 metres, the vehicle enables us to load cardboard to an extra height to maximise capacity and enables us to deliver up to 32 pallets at a time.
The D8K engines offer high torque at low revs, coupled with the I-Shift automatic gearbox delivering a smooth gear transition and selection, delivering an enhanced fuel efficiency.
Tristan Savage, from Falcon Vehicle Solutions says ‘The low driving position, the large windscreen and the extra windows in the doors mean you have very close contact with the environment around the vehicle. Fitted with auxiliary windows in the lower door panel delivers greater visibility and further enhances both driver and other road user safety’

This also give us greater control – running our own transports means we are able to offer more bespoke and improved service offerings design with their needs in mind.”
